Premier League Betting Tips - Boxing Day Odds 2016

Chelsea’s 1-0 win at Crystal Palace ensured Antonio Conte’s Blues take the Premier League Christmas No. 1 spot this year. Meanwhile, Liverpool’s late winner at Goodison Park sees them six points behind in second. Manchester City’s 2-1 victory over Arsenal meant they leapfrogged the Gunners into third and the battle for the top four is also bubbling away nicely.

At the other end of the table, despite putting in a good showing at the London Stadium, Hull City’s 1-0 loss to West Ham United put them bottom of the pile, while Swansea City are only above the Tigers on goal difference. Sunderland, who beat Watford 1-0 at the Stadium of Light on Saturday, occupy the final relegation spot.

As always, we’ve got live odds comparison, the best betting odds, tips, analysis and predictions from the pick of the Premier League fixtures over the festive period. That includes Manchester City’s visit to Hull, a London (ish!) derby and Liverpool’s home match with Stoke City.

Watford v Crystal Palace

Boxing Day’s first matchup sees Walter Mazzarri’s Watford welcome Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace to Vicarage Road. Both sides go into this one having lost their last two Premier League matches, and both will certainly be going all out for the win.

Looking at our live odds comparison, the Hornets are the favourites to prevail, with Sporting Bet having the best betting odds of 7/5. As for Crystal Palace, who have not won on the road since a 3-2 win at the Stadium of Light back in September, they are available at 9/4 with Betfair.

However, we fancy these two pretty evenly matched sides to play out a draw in Hertfordshire. The Eagles drew their last away game – a 3-3 thriller at Hull City – and we believe they are good enough to take a point at the very least on Monday.

As for Mazzarri’s boys, however, they have only drawn three times in the league this term. Nevertheless, we like the look of William Hill’s 12/5 for this crucial clash to end all square at Vicarage Road.

Hull City v Manchester City

Mike Phelan’s bottom placed Hull City welcome Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to the KCOM Stadium for a crucial Premier League fixture on Boxing Day. With Hull propping up the table, and with City winning back-to-back home matches, everything is pointing towards a routine Citizens win. However, this is the Premier League after all, where anything can happen.

Despite playing well at the London Stadium, the Tigers’ failure to take their chances cost them dearly against Slaven Bilic’s lacklustre West Ham United side. Mark Noble’s second half penalty was enough to give the Hammers a vital win. Hull go into Monday’s match as the 9/1 underdogs with BetVictor to secure an unlikely victory.

As for City, after losing two games on the spin, two home victories in a week was exactly what the doctor ordered at the Etihad Stadium. After beating Watford 2-0, Pep’s side came from behind to see off Arsenal 2-1 on home soil on Sunday. Because of that, City are as short as 7/20 (William Hill) to claim the three points at the KCOM, whilst the draw is available at odds of 9/2 at Coral.

Unfortunately for the Tigers, we can only see one winner in this one. Looking at the live odds comparison, Guardiola’s boys are priced at 10/11 with Coral to win -1, and that’s our betting tip in this one.

Liverpool v Stoke City

After leaving it late to beat rivals Everton at Goodison Park on Monday evening, courtesy of an injury-time goal from Sadio Mane, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool entertain Mark Hughes’ Stoke City on Tuesday, looking to add another three points to their tally. The Reds are currently six adrift of Chelsea, but a win over Stoke would keep them in second spot in the Premier League table.

As for the Potters, back-to-back draws sees them occupy a place in the bottom half of England’s top-tier table, but victory in Merseyside could take them into the top 10. According to our odds comparison, the best odds you can get on an away win are 21/2 at BetVictor, whilst the draw is available at 5/1 with the same bookie.

Liverpool, who have taken an outstanding 17 points from 21 available at Anfield this season, will expect to see off Hughes’ men on Tuesday. The best odds you can get on a home victory are 7/20 at William Hill, but we’re predicting a comfortable evening for the Reds. Therefore, we feel there’s great value in Betfred’s 4/5 for Klopp’s troops to win -1.

Southampton v Tottenham Hotspur

On Wednesday, Claude Puel’s Southampton and Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur face off at St Mary’s for a big Premier League clash on the south coast.

Spurs are currently fifth, with the Saints two places but nine points behind in seventh. Despite being on the road, Tottenham are the slight favourites with the bookies, and they will no doubt be looking for a victory at St Mary’s next Wednesday.

It’s been a strange couple of months for the Lilywhites, but after winning two home matches on the spin, they will be hoping to extend their winning run to three in three. Standing in their way, however, are Puel’s astute Southampton side, who will also be searching for all three points from this one.

The home team are available at 19/10 with Sporting Bet, whereas Spurs are the 31/20 favourites, also with Sporting Bet. For those of you who are having a tough time splitting these two, Betway are offering 23/10 for the draw.

Still, despite the Saints being in decent shape, we predict Tottenham to claim maximum points from this one. Therefore, we advise you to take up Sporting Bet’s 31/20 for Tottenham to come out on top.
