after the international break the premier league is back with a bang; and whilst stating that the biggest game of the weekend sees seventh travel to sixth might not get the blood racing, arsenal v man united is another story entirely! read on for our predictions for that and the other nine premier league games this weekend as we offer live betting odds comparison and top betting tips in one great article.
arsenal v manchester united
arsenal and man united trail chelsea by 12 and 13 points respectively after just 11 games, although by kick off here it’s likely to be 15 and 16 points. that’s a huge gap so early in the season and whilst the title might already be out of the question, both sides will be desperate to finish in the top four. we expect both sides to improve as the season goes on and predict both will finish higher than their current positions. however, the mood at the emirates is increasingly toxic and with pressure mounting on players and manager we feel united, who look to be improving, offer decent value at odds of 11/5 here, although those can – and should – be increased by throwing in both teams to score too at a combined 5/1 with bwin in what should be a highly entertaining game.
crystal palace v liverpool
sunday’s first televised game sees another under fire manager, brendan rodgers, take his men to palace. the home side are also feeling the heat, currently down in 17th after one point in five games, although a win here would move them just two points behind the kop side. liverpool are priced at odds-on and that has to be opposed given their dire form, low confidence and poor defensive record, especially on the road. palace and btts appeals but we’ll play it safe here by opting for palace +0.5 at nice betting odds of 23/20 as we predict the home side will get a point at least.
chelsea v west brom
chelsea are in serious danger of walking away with the title and a win here against west brom would move them seven points clear at the top of the premier league and 11 points ahead of man city. predicting a home win is easy and it may be a question of not if they win, but by how many. our answer to that is three, with 3-0 our correct score betting tip at nice odds of 15/2 with betvictor.
hull v tottenham
it seems there are few bosses enjoying the support of fans and club at present and mauricio pochettino at spurs is another who desperately needs a win. tottenham are priced at betting odds of 6/5 (stan james) here and that looks short in a game we predict should be very tight. the draw, priced at 12/5 with bet365, looks the best bet, not least because the tigers have already drawn five in the premier league this season.
aston villa v southampton
monday night sees high-flying southampton travel to villa and few could have predicted that after £90m of talent sold and 11 games the saints would be in second place, well clear of the chasing pack. we can’t see the visitors maintaining this form though and they were a little lucky last time out so our tip here is the home win at big odds of 17/4 with betvictor. villa are not always at their best on home soil but they have produced some good results against top sides over the last two seasons and can do so again here.
everton v west ham
the toffees will feel this is the sort of game they have to win if they are to push for a top four finish and we predict they will win and win well against sam allardyce’s overachieving hammers. at odds of 4/5 the home win appeals but take them to win to nil at 12/5 with coral – they’ve conceded just two goals in their last six games and look to be over their early season defensive issues.
manchester city v swansea
city have to win if they are to maintain any sort of serious title push but it won’t be easy against a swansea team currently sitting in fifth (an unlikely 4-0 win would move them above their hosts!) the swans, who many predicted for the drop, are playing well but are weak on the road and so city -2.5 is the bet here at nice odds of 12/5 with 888sport.
leicester v sunderland
two sides for whom the main aim this term is survival do battle here and we predict a close game. the goals have dried up for leicester and we don’t see too many here, our main betting tip for this one being under 2.5 goals, a total steal at 9/10 with betvictor given the foxes have failed to score in five out of six since beating man united 5-3!
newcastle v qpr
a few weeks ago newcastle looked doomed and boss alan pardew was a figure of derision at best, hate at worst. after 13 points from 15 in the premier league and a win at man city in the league cup that’s all changed and success here could see the magpies move into fourth place in the table! our prediction, however, is for qpr to earn a first away point of the season and get a draw at solid odds of 14/5 with paddy power.
stoke v burnley
stoke are priced at betting odds of just 7/10 here and the bookies, like us, are clearly predicting a home win. burnley are out of their depth in the premier league and whilst this one might be close, ultimately we have to fancy a bet on the home side.
