It’s questionable whether acquiring Cristiano Ronaldo is going to help Manchester United win this season’s Champions League, although the Red Devils should enjoy a comfortable opening win in Switzerland when they take on Young Boys at the Stadion Wankdorf.
Champions League Group F could be a competitive one considering that Atalanta and Villarreal are the other teams in this section, so United will want to enjoy a comprehensive win against the side perceived by the bookies to have the lowest probability of coming through to the last sixteen stage.
The Swiss champions have had a wobbly start to their own domestic campaign by only winning one out of four matches at the time of writing, with former Huddersfield manager David Wagner now in the dugout and it will be interesting to see how he approaches this clash.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is likely to keep his team strong and perhaps we’ll see Jadon Sancho demonstrate his prowess from a wide position, with Raphael Varane also knowing what is required to win a Champions League title and we’re going to back United to win by two goals or more.
