It’s going to be an intriguing spectacle when Brighton and Manchester United meet for the third time this season. The Seagulls drew first blood when winning 2-1 at Old Trafford in the first game of the season, with Pascal Gross scoring twice on that occasion. The Austrian more recently bagged another brace when Roberto de Zerbi’s side recently thrashed Wolves 6-0.

De Zerbi has a few selection dilemmas considering that the win was achieved without starting Kaoru Mitoma and Alexis Mac Allister, with the pair set to return for Thursday’s big game. The bookmakers have Brighton as strong favourites to overcome a Manchester United team who have shown some underlying weakness on the road and they’ve lost six away games.

Indeed, United’s goal difference on the road is -10 and Brighton will feel confident of landing a midweek success after creating plenty of chances against the same opponent at Wembley in their FA Cup semi. The Seagulls now have an average of more than two goals scored per home game and they’ll be on the front foot here.

However, the visitors have Christian Eriksen back in the fold and they claimed a 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday, with Marcus Rashford back fit and firing for the visitors. They will know that a draw keeps them moving in the right direction. If you’re going to back Brighton, it could be worth looking at a bet on the Seagulls and both teams to score.
