Do West Ham stand any chance of landing a victory against Manchester City this weekend? It’s been a fine start for a team who would actually leapfrog their opponents if they did find a way to win, with Jarrod Bowen playing really well and unlucky not to claim a place in the England team. Meanwhile, Michail Antonio can also pose a few problems for the City defence.

The Hammers kicked on after that draw at Bournemouth by beating Chelsea 3-1 and they enjoyed the same winning scoreline when securing an unlikely triumph at the AMEX Stadium. A 2-1 win at Luton Town means that they’re sitting pretty on nine points, with the London outfit not particularly missing Declan Rice at the time of writing.

Lucas Paqueta has remained at the club and the Brazilian is clearly making this team tick, although Manchester City are hard to oppose. If you want to back the visitors, then you could plump for a City win and both teams to find the net. Some will look to include an Erling Haaland goal in their Bet Builder although Julian Alvarez has also looked lively.

It should be an interesting tussle and perhaps it could be worth siding with West Ham on the handicap market. There’s an opportunity to take them with a goal start or even a 1.5 goal advantage, with Manchester City perhaps finding life difficult. However, that man Haaland has six goals on the board already and could be ready to boost his tally.
