Norwich City have been handed a very tough set of fixtures after returning to the Premier League and Daniel Farke will hope that the Canaries can weather the initial storm before getting points on the board. This is a particularly tough opener although last season’s Championship winners might hope there’s a chink in the armour.

Andy Robertson will be missing for Liverpool after picking up a pre-season injury and there might be some defensive rustiness through the returning Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip, with the former having been out for almost twelve months although we’re expecting the Dutchman to return to his imperious best.

Diogo Jota has been sharp during pre-season and the Portuguese also looked electric at Euro 2020, with Roberto Firmino battling it out for minutes, while Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are as dependable as it gets when it comes to operating in the English top flight.

We are going to take a punt on Liverpool to win the game by at least two goals, with the Merseyside team capable of doing damage at Carrow Road and they will be in no mood to sit on a slender advantage against a team who are likely to be among the weakest this season.
