After a 3-0 win at Lecce on Sunday 21 January, things were going well for Juventus who were building up a head of steam in search of the Scudetto. However, a 1-1 draw against Empoli was followed by successive defeats against Inter and Udinese. A 2-2 draw at Verona saw even more points dropped and it now looks as though the title is beyond them.

Even so, Juve will keep plugging away and they travel to Naples off the back of a 3-2 win over Frosinone. It wasn’t a vintage performance although Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic was at the double, with Daniele Rugani scoring a late winner to complete a comeback, with the team now aiming to record their ninth away victory of the campaign.

Napoli have been floundering in mid-table this season, although this is still a significant fixture for the supporters who will be demanding a strong performance from their side. Recent form has been poor, with just one win from seven matches going into Wednesday’s clash away to Sassuolo.

The Naples side were fantastic when winning the Scudetto last season although they have only managed to win five of their twelve matches at home this term. Perhaps they can raise their game against illustrious opponents, with Victor Osimhen returning to the goal trail by recently getting on the scoresheet against Barcelona and Cagliari.
