Although they are unlikely to realistically challenge for the title, it’s been an amazing campaign for a team who finished in tenth spot last term. They have accrued fifty-two points from twenty-one games and will clash with Celta Vigo having not lost on the road.
The bookies make the league leaders marginal favourites to land a victory, with the latest performance seeing them thrash Sevilla by a 5-1 scoreline. Artem Dovbyk scored a hat-trick in that clash and the Ukrainian forward has now scored seven goals in as many games, with plenty of football accumulators likely to include the visiting team.
Celta Vigo could be in for a scrap against relegation considering that they have a paltry return of seventeen points from twenty-one games played. At home, there have only been two victories and it’s hard to have much confidence that they will win after back to back defeats against Sociedad in front of their own fans.
Rafael Benitez will want his team to take a pragmatic approach and there was a win against Real Betis earlier in the month before Copa del Rey triumphs against Amorebieta and Valencia. Perhaps they are capable of grinding out a point, although it could be problematic stopping Artem Dovbyk and the away win looks like a value proposition.
