2021-22 Europa Conference League Outright Betting
This is a brand new UEFA club competition which is primarily designed to allow the smaller nations to have clubs who participate at the knockout stage of the competition, with eight groups of four teams lining up and the sides who top the section will go through to the last sixteen phase.
The runners-up will head through to the preliminary knockout round where they will compete against some of the teams who have dropped down from the Europa League, meaning that many of the teams at the business end could be involved in the secondary competition before coming into the third one.
For now, it’s Tottenham Hotspur who are favourites and it’s easy to see Spurs competing hard in the Conference League considering that Nuno Espirito Santo would love to win some silverware during his first season in charge.
The Portuguese has recently taken the reins at the North London club and seems to have the squad capable of challenging on both a domestic and European front.
Perhaps a former Spurs manager will instead be successful and Jose Mourinho will relish going into this competition with Roma providing he doesn’t think the competition is below him! The Italian side have a strong pedigree at this level and it’s easy to see the Rome side competing hard irrespective of the quality of teams who drop into the tournament from the Europa League, with Mourinho having captured Tammy Abraham among other players this summer.
Rennes are anywhere between 9/1 and 20/1 to win the Europa Conference League, with the French side clearly operating in a highly competitive division in the form of Ligue 1. The slight issue for Bruno Genesio’s team is that they have been drawn in the same group as Tottenham which might see them have to contend in the round of 32 and that would mean having to navigate a tricky obstacle en route to winning.
Feyenoord are a Dutch team who can’t be underestimated despite finishing fifth in the Eredivisie last season, with Arne Slot having a squad who can be competitive against the lesser lights in the Conference League, although they also have a difficult section considering that Slavia Prague and Union Berlin are also involved.
The Bundesliga side finished seventh in their domestic standings last term, although that was in the highly competitive Bundesliga and Urs Fischer’s side look the progressive sort who can build on last season’s success and go deep in this competition. Playing in Europe is a big deal for a club such as this one and we might see some motivated performances.
