It’s always exciting when Chelsea go up against Manchester United, with the two teams having big aspirations when it comes to Premier League success. The Blues have spent an enormous amount of money to assemble a squad who can challenge for top honours although it’s been a disappointing campaign and a bottom-half finish could be on the cards.
The bookies have them as favourites to boost their points tally with a win against the Red Devils, with Cole Palmer having been a star turn for the London outfit this term. Indeed, it’s hard to imagine how they would have fared without the England midfielder, with Burnley having recently held them to a 2-2 draw.
It’s noticeable that Chelsea’s recent encounters have been high-scoring affairs. Previously to the 2-2 draw against ten-man Burnley, there was a 4-2 FA Cup win over Leicester City where the Blues made hard work of beating a Championship side, while the 3-2 victory over Newcastle United was also far from convincing.
Manchester United were recently able to beat Liverpool in the FA Cup and they claimed a 1-1 draw at Brentford last weekend despite failing to hold on to a late lead. It was Mason Mount who was on the scoresheet and he could turn out against his former team here, with goals likely to be on the cards according to the latest odds.
