Valencia finished a lowly sixteenth in the La Liga table last season although they look set to achieve a higher finish this time around. Los Che are currently eleventh in the standings despite failing to win any of their previous four encounters. There have been recent back-to-back away defeats at Girona and Getafe.

Barca’s defence of their title doesn’t appear to be too convincing considering that they are seven points off the summit following a 4-2 reverse at home to Girona. It’s looking difficult for Xavi’s team right now although they are warm favourites to record a victory and get their campaign back on track.
A low-scoring clash could be on the cards when you look at the previous fixtures between the two sides, with Los Che in no mood to play expansive football.
