Match Betting (1x2)

Belgium have been seriously impressive when it has come to Euro 2020 qualifying. The Red Devils have won all eight of their matches and they have done so by scoring thirty goals and conceding just once.

It’s little surprise that Roberto Martinez’s team are strong favourites to claim another win when they head to Saint Petersburg on 16 November, with the team having already qualified for the Euro 2020 finals with ease.

Martinez will now want his team to continue the winning run and Belgium enjoyed a 3-1 victory over the same opponents back in March where Eden Hazard scored a brace of goals to take the game away from their opponents.

However, Russia were in that game in Brussels until the dying minutes and will be confident of exacting revenge and taking top spot in the group. They have already qualified for the Euro 2020 finals, so they can play with a relative amount of freedom.

With this game essentially being a dead rubber, then the draw could come into play and you can get a decent price about this clash ending all square. Belgium will be going out on the attack but could leave themselves open against the Russians.

Russia have enjoyed a flawless campaign aside from that 3-1 reverse in Brussels and they can be backed at a decent price to make home advantage count.

First Goalscorer

As mentioned, Eden Hazard scored twice for his country in the reverse fixture and the Real Madrid star can hardly be ignored when it comes to the First Goalscorer market.

The former Chelsea midfielder is likely to be on penalty duties and can also take a mean free-kick, with Hazard having scored three goals during qualifying although he has several dangerous team-mates on the pitch.

Romelu Lukaku has been a sharp shooter in a Belgium shirt for several years and the Inter Milan forward looks a fantastic bet to add to his total of six goals, with the former Manchester United striker likely to pose a big physical threat against the opposition.

However, Russia do have the leading scorer in the group and Artem Dzyuba is one goal away from landing a double figure tally, with the Zenit forward having bagged nine so far in qualifying.

Similarly, Denis Cheryshev has sprung to life since the 2018 World Cup and he’s on five goals in qualifying, with the midfielder likely to pose a threat from his position.

Asian Handicap

The Asian Handicap market is perfect for those that expect Belgium to win by a sizeable margin and it should be noted that they have scored an average of nearly four goals per game so far.

Belgium -1 or Belgium -1.5 are good alternatives to merely backing the Red Devils to win their match against Russia. The former option means that you get money back if they win by a single goal and a profit if the margin of victory is two goals or bigger.

The second option means you’ll get a bigger price but you will need Belgium to win by a two-goal margin in order to get over the line. With so much firepower in the ranks, this could be a decent shout.

If you feel as though both teams being qualified might give Russia an advantage, then you can get the home side +0.5 at a decent price and you’ll make money if the hosts simply avoid defeat.

Both Teams to Score

Both of these sides found the net in Brussels when Belgium won the game by a 3-1 scoreline and we might expect this to be an open and exciting encounter in Saint Petersburg.

That is why the “Yes” option on the Both Teams to Score market can be backed at odds-on and we might expect an open relaxed affair where several goals are scored throughout the contest.

Alternatively, you might think it could be a drab affair and there could be a temptation from both managers to rest their star players and use the game to give fringe players a chance.

Over / Under Goals

The Over 2.5 Goals quote is trading as slight favourite and it’s hardly a surprise considering that six of Belgium’s eight matches in qualifying have featured at least three goals, although they have enjoyed more modest winning scorelines on the road.

The Red Devils won 2-0 in Cyprus and Kazakhstan, with the defence remaining rock solid on the road in qualifying and the Under 2.5 Goals quote could be worthy of consideration.
