Atletico Madrid recorded four points from their opening two Champions League group matches, although consecutive defeats by Liverpool has set them back and they’re now a point behind Porto in the standings. The Portuguese side were able to claim four points over Milan and they’re now in the box seat to qualify with Liverpool.
It’s imperative that Diego Simeone’s side claim three points against Milan although they were very fortunate to win in Italy in the reverse fixture, with Rafael Leão having opened the scoring for the Rossoneri before a late comeback from the Mattress Makers and they’ll hope to record another win here.
Atleti aren’t quite the force of last season where they ended up winning the La Liga title and that was in evidence during a recent domestic clash where they played out a 3-3 draw away to Valencia, something that is a far cry from the usually stoic defence that holds tight and gets the job done.
From a Milan perspective, all is not lost. A win in the Spanish capital would pull them level with their opponents and get them into contention to reach the last sixteen stage. There is nothing to lose from a visitors perspective, so we’re leaning towards the BTTS Yes option.
