After a crunch clash between Spain and Norway on 25 March where La Roja will have had to contend against the twin attacking threat of Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard, we now have Luis de la Fuente’s side travelling to Scotland in a bid to collect another positive result against one of their main rivals when it comes to Euro 2024 Group A.

Scotland will have previously played Cyprus and will return to familiar surroundings at Hampden Park to clash with a Spanish side who initially looked like potential world champions at the 2022 World Cup but their challenge petered out and they were eventually beaten by a spirited Morocco team instead.

Captain Alvaro Morata will likely lead the line in this game, with Manchester City’s Rodri an increasingly important figure for a team who are one of the favourites to win Euro 2024 and were arguably the best side at the delayed Euro 2020. The manager has largely opted for experience in his ranks and that includes Dani Carvajal, Nacho and Dani Olmo.

However, Scotland will feel as though they can engineer a positive result in this clash and there is plenty of quality within the ranks. Andy Robertson and Kieran Tierney continue to be top level full-backs, with John McGinn a capable performer in the midfield department and there will be a chance for Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour to make their presence felt.
