The Tartan Army will flock to Hampden Park hoping to see Scotland record a first Nations League victory of the campaign. They’ve been pretty competitive on home soil, losing to an injury-time penalty against Poland before a goalless draw against Portugal. Perhaps they’ll operate from a strong base against Croatia and the draw could definitely be worth considering.
As always, Scotland are short of a quality striker to find the net, although John McGinn is back in action for Aston Villa which is a big boost for the country. Scott McTominay continues to score regularly too, with the Napoli midfielder finding the net in Lisbon after a home clash against Poland.
There’s the prospect of a low-scoring encounter and you can get a big price if you bet on a goalless draw. The visitors continue to have Luka Modric operating for his country, with Croatia racing into a 3-1 lead in Poland before being pegged back to a draw. When the teams met in Zagreb last month, it was a 2-1 home win thanks to a late Kramaric goal.A defeat for Scotland could see them return to League B although we do think a 0-0 or 1-1 draw could be on the cards here. Croatia are not convincing from a defensive point-of-view and also lack a quality forward player. However, they are on the verge of advancing to the quarter finals and there could be a motivation to secure a victory.
