In Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic we have two of the best players in the world trying to drag their sides to the World Cup party in Brazil and whilst Portugal are strong favourites to qualify the superior team spirit of the Swedes could see them through.

Ronaldo is simply unstoppable and recently took his Champions League tally for the season to seven in three games with a brace against Juve. However, Zlatan is just behind him with six goals after he notched four in PSG’s win in Anderlecht.

There is clearly more to this one than the two attackers but the fact is that both are very difficult to stop. The betting odds for Portugal to win here are 4/5 with William Hill whilst those betting on Sweden can get 9/2 (BetVictor) by using our live odds comparison.

The draw is available at 14/5 with Bet365 and that could be a decent shout as there is little between the sides. However, our main betting tip is to ignore the match betting and instead look at the goals markets.

Portugal have struggled at the back, conceding at home against Northern Ireland and Israel, as well as shipping three in Israel. Given Sweden scored in all five of their away qualifiers – including that remarkable 4-4 draw in Germany – backing both teams to score here looks a great bet at very nice odds of 11/10 with Bet365. Portugal might nick the win but the call is definitely both to score.
