English Premier League Betting Odds – End of 2016 Round

29/12/2016 11:15

as we say goodbye to 2016 and welcome 2017, we’ve got live odds comparison, best betting odds, tips, analysis and predictions from the pick of this round’s premier league fixtures, including the blockbuster clash at anfield between jurgen klopp’s liverpool and pep guardiola’s manchester city.

after securing their 12th straight league win on boxing day, antonio conte’s title-chasing chelsea side still top the premier league table by seven points. a pedro goal, an eden hazard penalty and a steve cook own goal proved more than enough to seal a comfortable 3-0 victory over eddie howe’s bournemouth at stamford bridge.

elsewhere, arsene wenger’s arsenal left it late to see off west bromwich albion at the emirates, whist manchester city put on a second-half masterclass to beat hull city 3-0 at the kcom stadium.

at the other end of the table, hull’s loss at home to the citizens kept them at the foot, while swansea city and sunderland both suffered heavy defeats to west ham united and manchester united respectively.

so let’s turn our attentions to the next round of games: check out some great tips and be sure to consult our betting odds comparison table for the best prices around!

hull city v everton

we kick things off with friday night’s match at the kcom stadium, as ronald koeman takes his everton side to east yorkshire to face mike phelan’s relegation-threatened hull city. after beating leicester city at the king power stadium on boxing day, the toffees will be searching for two away wins in a week.

looking at our live odds comparison, as you would expect, everton are the favourites (10/11 with betfair) to claim the three points. after falling to a shocking 12th defeat in their last 16 premier league matches, the tigers are available at the big price of 15/4 (coral) to win on their own patch. meanwhile, the best betting odds you can get on the draw are 13/5 with betvictor.

we can see it being a comfortable evening for koeman and co on friday. therefore, we feel there’s excellent value to be found in coral’s 5/2 for everton to win -1 at the kcom. after a turbulent year at goodison park, which has seen the merseysiders have a change of manager as well as a number of indifferent results and performances, the everton faithful would love to close the curtain on 2016 with a win.

liverpool v manchester city

the standout game from this round of premier league fixtures is without doubt the mouth-watering match at anfield between title rivals liverpool and manchester city. with chelsea still well clear at the top, both of these english heavyweights will be going all out for maximum points in this tasty looking clash.

going into the match, the bookies are having a tough time splitting these two. being at home, the reds are the slight favourites, with betfair offering 29/20 for a liverpool win. however, if you fancy guardiola’s men to come out on top at anfield, betfred are offering the very tempting price of 2/1.

nevertheless, we’re predicting the pair to play out a draw in merseyside, which is available at 27/10 at betvictor. unfortunately for fans of liverpool and city, the draw would not be a particularly good result for either side. on the other hand, a share of the spoils in this one would be the perfect outcome for conte’s blues.

watford v tottenham hotspur

the first premier league match of 2017 sees walter mazzarri’s watford and mauricio pochettino’s tottenham hotspur go head-to-head at vicarage road. with the hornets needing the points to stay in the top half of the table, and spurs wanting the win to keep on the heels of the top four, we should be in for a fascinating contest in hertfordshire.

on paper, this is a fixture you would expect the lilywhites to win. however, watford are a decent side on their own patch, and tottenham will have to be at their best to take home maximum points. according to the live odds, spurs are the 3/4 favourites with william hill for the win, whilst a home victory is available at the tempting price of 19/4 with betvictor. the best odds you can get on this one to end all square are 3/1 with betfred.

however, we can see tottenham claiming a crucial victory at watford, and we like the look of william hill’s generous 3/4 for pochettino’s men to triumph in herts. a victory for the north londoners would keep them in the hunt for a top four spot, it would also open the gap even further on everton, who sit sixth.

arsenal v crystal palace

the last of our premier league previews comes from the emirates stadium, as arsene wenger’s arsenal entertain sam allardyce’s crystal palace in an intriguing looking new year’s day london derby. the gunners, who narrowly saw off the challenge of west brom last time out at home, will be eager to secure two home wins in a week.

as for palace, they earned a hard-fought 1-1 draw at vicarage road in big sam’s first game in charge. despite taking a deserved first-half lead, the eagles failed to hold onto their advantage, and the draw was probably the fairest outcome in the end. palace head to north london as the 21/2 underdogs with betvictor. meanwhile, the draw is available at 19/4 with sporting bet.

however, our betting tip for this one is a comfortable gunners victory. arsenal may have left it late against the baggies, but the 1-0 victory over albion was their sixth win in nine home pl matches this term. betway are offering just 1/3 for a home triumph – because of that, we think there’s better value in coral’s 17/20 for wenger’s boys to win -1. with chelsea seemingly running away with it at the top, these are the type of matches the gunners must win.
