with six premier league teams in emirates fa cup action, we’ve got a limited pl fixture list this weekend. however, that does not mean we’re not in for our usual treat of exciting football from the best league in the world, with the likes of everton, liverpool and west ham united – among others – all in action.
we’ve got a relegation six-pointer between hull city and swansea city to look forward to, as well as everton’s game with west bromwich albion, and west ham’s trip to bournemouth, which all take place on saturday. meanwhile, on sunday, liverpool welcome burnley to anfield for the premier league’s 4pm kick off.
as always, we’ve got live odds comparison, tips, the best betting odds, predictions, analysis and previews on all four premier league games taking place this weekend. who will take the points in the big one at the kcom stadium, can bournemouth secure a rare win, and will the reds ease to victory over the clarets?
we begin with the intriguing looking game at goodison park, as ronald koeman’s everton welcome tony pulis’ west bromwich albion to the blue half of merseyside. with the toffees sitting in seventh and albion in eighth, we should be in for an interesting afternoon at goodison.
both sides lost last time out, with west brom losing 2-0 at home to crystal palace, and everton succumbing 3-2 at white hart lane. however, despite being so close in the table, koeman’s boys are four points clear of the baggies. a home victory in this one would open up a sizable gap between the pair.
everton are the bookies’ favourites, with coral offering 4/6 for the home win. meanwhile, the best odds you can get on the draw are 3/1 (betfred), while west brom are available at 5/1 with betway.
a quick glance at the form table shows this one could go either way. however, we believe home advantage could play a key factor. looking at our odds comparison, coral are offering the top price of 19/10 for the merseyside outfit to win -1 on home soil on saturday. that looks like a value bet to us!
arguably, the biggest premier league match of the weekend takes place at the kcom stadium, as relegation rivals hull city and swansea city square off. both teams, who changed managers recently, have seen an upswing in fortunes in terms of results and performances, and both will be desperate to take all three points from this one.
since marco silva took over, hull have won four times, including against the swans in the fa cup in early january. as for swansea, they have won four premier league matches, which has taken them out of the relegation zone.
according to the live odds comparison, the best price you can get on a hull victory is 6/4 with betfred, whereas swansea are available at 23/10 with the same bookie.
however, we’re struggling to pick a winner, so we predict this one to end all square in east yorkshire. betfair are offering the tempting price of 23/10 for the draw.
eddie howe’s bournemouth have slowly but surely been dragged into a relegation scrap as the season has progressed, but they will be buoyed by last weekend’s superb point at old trafford. this saturday, the cherries welcome slaven bilic’s inconsistent west ham united to the vitality stadium.
you never quite know what west ham side is going to turn up these days, having won three, drawn two and lost five of their last 10 games in all competitions. nevertheless, after a horrible start to their season, the hammers have done well to take themselves away from trouble into mid-table in the premier league.
bournemouth, meanwhile, are not so comfortable. unfortunately for the cherries, last weekend’s point at manchester united was their only point in their last five pl games. howe’s men now sit 14th in the table, just five points clear of the drop zone.
despite being out of form, the home team are the slight 6/4 favourites with betfred to seal a priceless win. as for the irons, they head to the south coast as 19/10 second favourites with sporting bet. the draw is available at 5/2 (betvictor).
we’re predicting bournemouth to nick this one on their own patch, and we feel betfred’s 6/4 is not a bad price at all.
last but not least is sunday’s only premier league fixture, as liverpool host burnley at anfield. the clarets, who beat the reds 2-0 at turf moor back in august, have yet to win away from home in the premier league this term. in fact, sean dyche’s men have taken just two points from a possible 39 on their travels.
after a shocking start to 2017, liverpool finally look as though they have turned a corner, winning two of their last three. after beating spurs 2-0 at anfield, the reds managed to see off arsenal 3-1 in their following match on home turf. sandwiched in between, however, was a poor 3-1 loss at leicester city.
incredibly, despite having an excellent record at turf moor, dyche’s boys have the worst away record in the premier league. so much so, they head to merseyside as the 14/1 underdogs with ladbrokes. even the draw is available at long odds, with betfred pricing it a 6/1.
the reds, who are the 1/4 strong favourites with betfair, will be looking to ease to a third straight premier league home victory on sunday. only tottenham and chelsea have taken more points on their own patch than liverpool this season, and we believe coral’s best odds of 4/6 for klopp’s men to win -1 are worth taking advantage of.
we think it’s going to be a great weekend for both the blue and red halves of merseyside. why not combine everton and liverpool in a -1 handicap double to land a really big win?
