there are some huge premier league games on saturday and sunday this weekend, with arguably the biggest of the 10 fixtures coming on monday. after the international break the top flight is back with a real bang.
things get underway with a clash between the last two premier league champions, chelsea and leicester. it is monday night’s game though, between liverpool and man united, that really excites. in between we take a look at three other huge premier league showdowns though.

this 3pm kick-off gives the citizens a chance to claim a fourth straight home premier league win. thus far they have scored nine at the etihad and conceded just two but the fact that bournemouth (currently 13th) are the highest ranked side they have welcomed somewhat takes the gloss of those stats.
regardless, city are the big favourites with the bookmakers here, priced at 1/2 with coral. the stalemate is available at 4/1 whilst the best odds on everton are 6/1 at betfair.
the toffees started the season brilliantly but defeat to norwich in the efl cup was followed by a loss at bournemouth and a home draw with palace. still, everton are fifth and look to have a good balance between attack and defence under ronald koeman.
this should be a tight game and whilst city should win, we doubt it will be easy. as such our betting tip is for the home side to win by exactly one goal. that can be backed at best betting odds of 37/13 with pinnacle and looks great value, with 1-0 or 2-1 our correct score predictions.
saturday’s late game is this london derby, with palace flying high and west ham struggling. the hammers are down in 18th and there is real pressure on slaven bilic. in contrast, alan pardew, who began the campaign needing results and didn’t initially get them, has turned things around, with winning three and drawing two of their last five premier league clashes.
palace are rightly firm favourites here at fair odds of 5/4 but we’re looking to the goalscorer markets for our betting tip. christian benteke cost palace a lot of money but has already started paying that fee back with goals. the big belgian notched after eight seconds for belgium on monday night and looks a great bet to open the scoring here at odds of 4/1 with coral.
the second of sunday’s games is on the south coast between two sides in midtable but looking down, not up. saints have nine points from seven games to sit 10th, with burnley two points and four places worse off.
this should be a close contest but the home side are deserved favourites at best betting odds of 5/12 with pinnacle. that looks a shade short for us though in what we predict will be a very tight game.

monday night football has a cracker for us, with united’s trip to anfield. there is huge optimism at the merseyside club following some great performances and if they can take all three points here many will start to believe they can challenge for the title.
jurgen klopp’s methods are really starting to bear fruit and his work at liverpool is much more advanced than jose mourinho’s at liverpool. both are prone to inconsistency though, which makes this a tough match to predict.
