Premier League Odds Preview for Matches on 22nd-23rd April

21/04/2017 11:15

it may be emirates fa cup semi-finals weekend, but there’s still plenty of premier league football to look forward to. there’s six premier league fixtures taking place at the weekend, with the likes of manchester united, liverpool and everton all in action.

we’ll be focusing on four crucial matches, as the race for a top four spot and the battle for survival is at melting point in the premier league. on saturday, swansea city welcome stoke city to the liberty stadium, whilst everton travel to the london stadium to face west ham united.

meanwhile, on sunday, burnley host manchester united at turf moor, and liverpool square off against crystal palace. standby for what promises to be another enthralling weekend of premier league action, and be sure to check our odds comparison to get the best prices for all your bets.

swansea city v stoke city: all square at the liberty

paul clement’s swansea city are running out of time to save their premier league lives. this saturday at 3pm, the welsh outfit entertain mark hughes’ stoke city at the liberty stadium. after dropping into the relegation zone, nothing short of three points will do for the swans from this one.

standing in their way, however, are a decent stoke side, who will be looking for a top half finish. the potters currently occupy 11th spot in the premier league, a point adrift of 10th placed watford. when the pair met at the bet365 stadium earlier in the season, hughes’ boys ran out comfortable 3-1 winners back in october.

looking at the live odds comparison going into this vital matchup, the bookies have the swans as their favourites, with william hill offering 5/4 for a home win. meanwhile, sportingbet have the tempting price of 12/5 for stoke to seal an away victory, with the draw coming in at 12/5 with betfred.

in truth, this is a game that could go either way. like we said, with swansea fighting for their lives, whilst the potters will be keen to finish the season in the top 10, both will be going for the three points on saturday. because of that, we can see the pair cancelling each other out at the liberty. therefore, check out betfred’s betting odds of 12/5 for the draw.

west ham united v everton: comfortable for the toffees

also on saturday, slaven bilic’s west ham united and ronald koeman’s everton go head-to-head at the london stadium in an intriguing fixture. the toffees still have eyes on a top four finish, whereas west ham need the points to make sure of safety.

the toffees kept up their fine form on saturday, beating burnley 3-1 at goodison park to stay on the heels of the teams in the top four. unfortunately for koeman and co, manchester city, manchester united and arsenal also won. the merseyside outfit remain seven points behind the uefa champions league spots.

as for the hammers, they have had a topsy-turvy first season in their new stadium. still, they look safe from relegation, having taken four points from their last two fixtures. bilic’s men sit 13th in the table, nine points clear of the drop zone.

the toffees have certainly had the better of the east londoners in recent years, they also beat them 2-0 at goodison park back in october. everton are the 5/4 favourites with betvictor to leave the capital with all three points. meanwhile, west ham are available at 23/10 (sportingbet), and the draw is priced at odds of 5/2 with william hill.

we can see koeman’s troops winning well during their first visit to the london stadium. coral are offering tasty odds of 16/5 for the away team to win with a -1 goal handicap on saturday.

burnley v manchester united: red devils too strong for the clarets

jose mourinho’s manchester united, who are fresh off the back of beating chelsea at old trafford, make the trip to turf moor on sunday to face sean dyche’s burnley. judging by the clarets’ outstanding home record, this will not be an easy afternoon for the red devils.

burnley have taken a phenomenal 32 points on their own patch, which will surely be enough to keep them in the premier league. on the flip side, they have won none, drawn four and lost 13 of their 17 away matches. dyche’s boys head into this one as the 7/1 underdogs with betvictor. the draw, meanwhile, is priced at 16/5 with sportingbet.

united are available at betting odds of just 11/20 for the win, but looking at their form of late, it’s easy to see why. jose’s boys have won five of their last eight top flight fixtures. they have also not been beaten in the premier league since losing 4-0 at stamford bridge way back in october.

we can see united easing to another victory on sunday. with 11/20 being your best price for an away win, we believe the real value is in betway’s 13/8 for the red devils to win with a -1 goal handicap at turf moor.

liverpool v crystal palace: reds to nick it

our last preview comes from anfield, as jurgen klopp’s liverpool entertain sam allardyce’s crystal palace. both teams will be looking to end their season strong, but will the reds ease to victory on their own patch in this one?

liverpool look to have sealed a top four spot, having won five and drawn two of their previous seven premier league fixtures. klopp’s men now sit six points above fifth placed man united.

the eagles have flown away from trouble, sealing five victories in their last seven, including huge wins over chelsea and arsenal. allardyce, who has never been relegated as manager, looks to have worked his magic once again.

as expected, the hosts are the strong favourites in this one, with betfair offering 8/15. palace are available at the tempting price of 13/2 with sportingbet, with the draw at 18/5 with the same firm.

nevertheless, it’s difficult to look past a liverpool win, as the merseyside outfit are very strong on home soil, losing just one premier league match at anfield all season. although the odds are short, we still believe betfair’s price of 8/15 is worth taking advantage of.
