Antwerp are a well-known team in the Belgian First Division although they have only landed the top-flight title on a handful of occasions. Their last success came in the 1956-57 campaign, with Mark van Bommel hoping to steer the team to a historic victory on Sunday and they have the not-so-simple task of securing three points away to Racing Genk.

Royal Antwerp have recently secured a 1-0 win away to Genk as recently as 12 February, with Gyrano Kerk scoring the only goal of the game on that occasion. The team recently enjoyed a seven-game winning run although a 2-0 defeat away to Club Brugge was a spanner in the works, with a 1-1 draw taking place against Union Saint Gilloise.

As far as the betting odds are concerned, Genk are marginal favourites to win this crunch clash and it could be a winner takes all encounter, although both teams will be acutely aware that Union Saint Gilloise are strong favourites to win their remaining encounter against Club Brugge, meaning that things could get hectic if the game is level towards the end.

The football betting sites do anticipate that both teams might find the net and they quote short odds about that outcome, with the bookies also expecting a decent number of goals to be scored. However, Genk will come into this game off the back of a 3-1 victory away to Club Brugge, with Joseph Paintsil at the double and perhaps the same player will come to the fore here.
