We’re looking forward to the big Wednesday night clash at the Nou Camp and an opportunity to watch two of the favourites to win this season’s Champions League. Bayern Munich are the betting outsiders and they were beaten 1-0 by Aston Villa in their previous European encounter although they will still pose a threat to their Catalan opponents.
Bayern started the season with six straight wins although things have gone somewhat awry since then. As for Barcelona, they sit top of the La Liga standings right now, although they lost 2-1 at Monaco in their Champions League opener, while Hansi Flick’s side also showed a defensive weakness when losing 4-2 at Osasuna. However, they have landed big victories in their previous two encounters, with a 5-0 win over Young Boys being followed by a 3-0 victory over Alaves.
Robert Lewandowski was able to score a combined five goals in these two games and will relish lining up against his former club.
