Match Betting (1x2)

Borussia Dortmund are once again into the knockout stage of the Champions League and they’re certainly the joker in the pack, with Lucien Favre’s team claiming second spot in their group to finish behind Barcelona.

The pivotal moment in the group stage came against Internazionale when the Bundesliga team rallied from two goals down to claim a 3-2 victory, with Dortmund then claiming a win over Slavia Prague to cement their spot in the knockout stage of the competition.

Now comes a very tough assignment although some will like the 21/10 with Ladbrokes that the home side can claim a first leg advantage over a Paris Saint-Germain team who are prone to wobbling in these sort of matches.

PSG somehow conspired to be knocked out of the Champions League by Manchester United last season and Thomas Tuchel will return to his former club for this clash.

The French champions are 23/20 with William Hill to get the better of their opponents and there was plenty to like about the way in which they qualified for the last sixteen stage of the tournament.

Paris won five and drew one of their six matches, scoring seventeen goals and conceding just two. There was a 2-2 draw away to Real Madrid which saw the visitors come back from two goals down to draw level.

A similar scoreline won’t be a bad outcome for the French side on this occasion, with Unibet going 14/5 that this encounter ends in a draw and it’s feasible that we could see the two teams cancel each other out.

To Qualify

On first glance, it looks as though Paris Saint-Germain should come through this clash with plenty to spare, although the 1/3 with Paddy Power about the champions of France is not going to appeal to everyone.

PSG were utterly dominant when it came to their Champions League group although they did trail 2-0 at the Bernabeu and they have also lost three games domestically despite commanding an enormous lead at the top of Ligue 1.

Some will fancy Die Borussen at 11/4 to go through considering they are in the mix when it comes to hunting down the German title and they’re also a free-scoring team who could potentially score plenty over the two legs.

Asian Handicap

We are surprised by Dortmund’s match price and think that they’ll want to head to the French capital with some kind of advantage.

With this in mind, the 7/9 about the home side with a +0.5 goal advantage looks fairly generous and we think that Lucien Favre’s team are worth a bet to avoid defeat in this clash.

After all, it’s a two-legged affair although there are question marks over the home team’s defence and perhaps PSG -1 could be an interesting bet at 9/4 with Unibet.

In order to profit with this bet, you would need to get the visitors home by a two-goal margin.

Both Teams to Score

We really like the 4/7 about both sides finding the net in this clash, with PSG unlikely to sit back against a team that can cause real damage. Dortmund nearly always find the net at home too.

Alternatively, BetVictor have 7/4 about the “No” option if you think that the visitors can remain watertight and potentially get over the line without conceding.
