Match Betting (1x2)

Inter Milan are absolutely flying in Serie A this season. At the time of writing, Antonio Conte’s side are top of the table and perhaps this is the season where they end the Juventus stranglehold.

However, Inter are also keen to progress in Europe’s premier competition and a victory over Barcelona would be enough to see them into the last sixteen.

You might be surprised to find that the Italian side are trading as 4/6 favourites with Coral to overcome their illustrious opponents, especially considering that Barca are among the favourites to be kings of Europe.

However, the plain fact remains is that the Catalan side have already qualified for the knockout stage and it’s likely that their motivation levels are going to be fairly modest for this clash.

Similarly, manager Ernesto Valverde is likely to rest several star players for a trip which is largely irrelevant to them considering they have already racked up eleven points in this group.

Even so, Barcelona are 4/1 with Unibet to complete a double over Inter after previously beating them at the Nou Camp, with the champions of Spain coming from behind to win against a side who will now look to get their revenge.

A draw could open the door for Borussia Dortmund who are in third spot and William Hill have 3/1 that this clash ends all square.

Asian Handicap

This could be a match where Barcelona field a reserve team and some punters will look to get with Inter Milan on the Asian Handicap market where you can back the Italian title challengers to win by a sizeable margin.

For example, Inter -1.5 is currently trading at 7/4 with Unibet and you would need Conte’s men to win by two goals or more in order for this bet to cop, while Inter -2.5 is available at 9/2 should you think they will win by at least three goals.

First Goalscorer

Internazionale have a couple of sharp shooters in the team and it could actually pay to back them both on the First Goalscorer market. You would make a profit if either of them notched the first goal.

Romelu Lukaku has already done the business in England for Everton and Manchester United, with the Belgian having recently headed to Italy and he’s wasted little time in racking up goals in Milan.

Big Rom is a 7/2 chance to open the scoring and set Inter on their way to the last sixteen, while Lautaro Martinez seems to be the other dangerous operator in the side and the Argentine is having a fine time of things under Conte.

The 22-year-old has scored eight goals in fourteen matches during the team’s Serie A games and he could be a preferred option at 4/1.

Barcelona have a clutch of sharp shooting players and Lionel Messi is clearly the obvious pick, although there’s a strong chance that the recent Ballon d’Or winner is going to be among those rested.

It’s possible that Valverde will look to combine Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann in Italy and the latter is a 6/1 poke to break the deadlock and give Borussia Dortmund some real hope.

Over / Under Goals

Internazionale will want to get the job done. Taking a 1-0 lead won’t be enough to settle the nerves and so we’re expecting them to get a comfortable margin and perhaps Over 2.5 Goals could be the way forward.

That’s especially the case when you consider that there were three goals, with William Hill going 6/10 about Over 2.5 Goals and those expecting Over 3.5 Goals can get an odds-against quote of 7/5 with Paddy Power.

Alternatively, the Under 2.5 Goals quote can be backed at 7/5 with BetVictor and perhaps it will be one of those nervy encounters that sees the visitors keep things tight.
