Fulham’s priority is clearly to get promotion from the English Championship this season, with the Cottagers having made a strong start to the campaign and they sit top of the standings after amassing sixteen points from seven games played. Marco Silva’s side have scored seventeen goals thus far and Aleksandar Mitrovic is someone who is going to deliver plenty of goals.
We think that Fulham look a decent bet to make some progress in the League Cup, with Silva likely to rotate his squad although this has plenty of depth. The London side have only missed out on a victory on two occasions, once when drawing with Middlesbrough in their opening clash and they were also beaten 1-0 at Blackpool despite dominating. The other six games have ended up in a win.
Leeds have made something of a stuttering start to their 2021/22 Premier League campaign and we should expect some of the leading lights to be given the night off, including Patrick Bamford, Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips. While this is an opportunity for Dan James to come into the team and make an impact, we’ll opt for a Fulham win at decent odds and more cheer to be brought to the Craven Cottage faithful.
