Tottenham Hotspur are still competing on several fronts right now and they will hope to go deep in the Champions League, while an away tie at Bramall Lane provides an opportunity for Antonio Conte’s side to reach the last eight of the FA Cup. Spurs enjoyed a 1-0 win over Portsmouth in the third round of the competition before a comprehensive 3-0 victory away at Preston.
At the time of writing, Tottenham look vulnerable after a 4-1 defeat away to Leicester and they were then beaten 1-0 at Milan in the Champions League, with the squad starting to look stretched. Rodrigo Bentancur is out for the season, with Spurs wanting to lightly use players such as Harry Kane, Emil-Pierre Hjobjerg and Dejan Kulusevski.
Conte will hope that whatever team he fields can be competitive and avoid slipping up as they did away to Middlesbrough in the FA Cup last season. Sheffield United will certainly regard this as a free hit and the Blades are worth considering either on the Double Chance market with the draw onside or alternatively on the Asian Handicap market.
What’s particularly impressive about the Championship side is that they have scored 33 goals in 15 home games this season and they will attempt to lay siege on a Tottenham side who are sure to be in squad rotation mode when you consider their Champions League exertions and the fact that landing a top four spot in the Premier League is also a priority.
