Chelsea won’t have overly exerted themselves when clashing with Malmo in the Champions League and we can therefore expect them to be fairly fresh for the arrival of Norwich on Saturday. Thomas Tuchel will have given some of his first-team players the night off during the week, with Edouard Mendy having a deserved breather after his heroics at Brentford.

Indeed, it takes something special to beat Mendy in the Premier League and Norwich look ill-equipped to find the net at Stamford Bridge, with Daniel Farke going back to basics with his team in a bid to stop the rot which saw the Canaries lose their opening six games. In fairness to the East Anglian team, they have achieved goalless draws against Burnley and Brighton.

However, it’s hard to see them getting much change out of a Chelsea team who have a brick wall of three quality central defenders irrespective of injuries as they demonstrated at Brentford. Trevor Chalobah and Malang Sarr both acquitted themselves well in the west London derby, with N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic providing that familiar defensive barrier.

This could be an opportunity for Romelu Lukaku to get back on the scoring trail and we might see Chelsea run in a few goals on their way to a facile victory.
