Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain could serve up some guaranteed entertainment at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday 14 October. Enzo Maresca's team have made a flying start in the Premier League, with the Italian hoping to follow in the footsteps of Pep Guardiola and guide the Cityzens to a victory in Europe.
PSG need no introduction after retaining their Champions League crown last term. The French side head to England after a bumpy start to the season, although a 6-1 victory against Slovan Bratislava has been followed by away wins at Brest and Marseille. Perhaps they'll click more into gear after the international break.
Manchester City v Paris Saint-Germain Betting Markets
Manchester City have been a winning machine so far this season. Since losing 3-0 in the Community Shield, Enzo Maresca's side have been racking up the victories. There were seven straight wins before the international break, with a win at Old Trafford being followed by an emphatic 5-3 success against Sunderland.
City's approach is very much to outscore the opposition, with attacking intent sure to be on show when facing Paris Saint-Germain. The English team are priced at 2.25 to claim a victory which implies a 44% chance of landing a success. It's not that often that the Premier League leaders are available at big odds to win a home match, although it's not often that they face the champions of Europe.
Paris Saint-Germain are available at 2.70 to claim a victory, with the European champions having a 37% chance of winning at the Etihad Stadium according to the latest odds. Luis Enrique's side were typically start to get going this term, although they appear to have found some rhythm only to be disrupted by the international break.
There was a 6-1 win against Slovan Bratislava before successive Ligue 1 victories on the road. We know that they'll take an attacking approach against City, with Enrique bidding to guide the French champions to a third European win on the bounce. The team continue to be the recognisable players who have achieved so much glory although this is only the group stage of the competition.
Perhaps the draw is the best bet and a high-scoring one could well be on the cards here. We can see the two sides cancelling each other out and perhaps a 2-2 scoreline is going to be the outcome.
Goals Under/Over
Many Champions League bettors will look to include the Over 2.5 Goals selection in their accumulators. It's trading at the 1.44 mark and looks fairly likely to happen. In six of the eight games involving Paris Saint-Germain, there have been at least three goals although their victory in Brest was by a 1-0 scoreline. That was followed by a more recent 2-1 success at Marseille.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue are a front three that can cause carnage, although the same can be said of Manchester City's attacking options that include the mighty Erling Haaland. He is flanked by Rayan Cherki and Enzo Fernandez, with Antoine Semenyo offering a threat from a wider position.
Is there a case for going against the grain? Under 2.5 Goals is available at around 2.75 and perhaps the teams will be a little rusty after the international break followed by a domestic clash.

BTTS Yes looks heavily likely to happen. Manchester City have made a habit of scoring in every meaningful match this season, often in volume. They should be capable of finding the net at least once against a Paris Saint-Germain defence looking far from watertight. Six of PSG's eight clashes this season have seen both teams finding the net, with the only time they've drawn a blank being a French Champions Trophy clash against Lens.
The two teams met two seasons ago when Manchester City took a two-goal lead at the Parc des Princes before PSG came storming back to claim a 4-2 success. It was a thrilling encounter and we may well see more of the same here. The BTTS Yes outcome could either be added to an accumulator or alternatively combined with another pick such as one of the teams to win.
Alternatively, BTTS Yes could be included in a Bet Builder and it's one of those bets who could be settled quite early into the encounter. City's defence has been prone to conceding goals and that was recently seen in evidence when claiming a 5-3 success against Sunderland. The fact that this is a group game means there's less jeopardy.

Erling Haaland drew a blank in Manchester City's Community Shield match against Arsenal. He also failed to score in the Premier League opener against Bournemouth. However, there have since been goals in every clash, with seven being netted against Palace, Coventry, Porto, Manchester United and Sunderland.
The Norwegian is no stranger to finding the net against PSG and will be a popular selection in Bet Builders for the game. Perhaps we'll see Antoine Semenyo get on the scoring trail after the Ghanaian opened his account with a brace against Sunderland, with Enzo Fernandez operating in an attacking role since switching from Chelsea.
Ferran Torres has been the surprise package for Paris Saint-Germain this season, with the forward having spent a year at City earlier in his career. The Spaniard has scored seven times for the Ligue 1 side since switching from Barcelona in the summer, with a hat-trick racked up against Slovan Bratislava before notching goals away to Brest and Marseille.
Ousmane Dembele scored a brace in PSG's Champions League opener although those are the only goals that the 2025 Ballon d'Or winner has managed at the time of writing.
