It has been a tough start to life at Man United for David Moyes but there are signs that he is starting to get his side playing well and, more importantly, getting positive results. They are favourites to win here, available at betting odds of 17/12 with Pinnacle whilst the San Sebastian side can be backed at 9/4 with Bwin. If you fancy a draw then betting on the stalemate here will give you odds of 12/5 (Sportingbet) but we fancy the visitors will have enough to triumph.
If United have been having a tough start then Sociedad’s has been even worse. They have lost all three of their Champions League games and are just ninth in La Liga, with just three wins from their opening 11 games. They do not score enough goals and that could be a problem against a United side that can now boast Adnan Januzaj as well as Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie among its attacking talent.
The young Belgian is showing frequent flashes of brilliance and may be the creative talent the Red Devils appear to lack. With Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck also available United will have too much firepower and given their 4-0 League Cup win over Norwich was their third victory in a row we think a newfound confidence will help see them to a relatively easy win.
