Colombia and Uruguay are on the verge of reaching the Copa America final and it’s hard to split two teams who have been similarly impressive in the tournament so far. Colombia began with a victory over Paraguay before a comfortable win against Costa Rica. They then held Brazil to a 1-1 draw to top the group in the process.

Nestor Lorenzo’s side demonstrated their attacking prowess by scoring five times against Panama, with James Rodriguez, Luis Diaz and Jhon Cordoba operating as a dangerous front three, while Davinson Sanchez and Carlos Cuesta are a rock solid central defensive pairing in front of Camilo Vargas.

However, it’s going to be a tough clash against a Uruguay side who had to cope with injuries and a red card before triumphing against Brazil. Right back Nahitan Nandez will be suspended after being sent off in the quarter final clash, while Ronald Araujo was replaced in the first half by Jose Maria Gimenez.

The group stage saw Marcelo Bielsa’s team claim victories over Panama, Bolivia and the United States, scoring nine goals in the process. Bielsa will want to see his team get on the front foot in this clash, with Darwin Nunez operating ahead of Facundo Pellistri, Nicolas de la Cruz and Maximiliano Araujo. It promises to be an exciting spectacle.
