Arsenal are in an excellent position to challenge for the Premier League title, with the Gunners currently sitting second in the table. They have earned fifty-five points from twenty-five games played and some of their recent performances have been outstanding. A trip to the London Stadium looked difficult on paper although a 6-0 win was achieved.
This was followed by a 5-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor although this fixture against Newcastle is altogether more difficult considering that it follows hard on the heels of a trip to FC Porto. Having to juggle Champions League fixtures is a new challenge for this Arsenal side who will come up against a pragmatic Newcastle defence.
For the Magpies, they no longer have European distractions and they could be better prepared for this fixture as a result. Eddie Howe’s team are still aiming for a repeat of last season’s fourth placed finish and there could be some merit in backing them on the Asian Handicap. They were able to get a goalless draw from the same fixture last term.
The biggest issue for the visitors is the number of players who are currently injured, although we can expect a hotly-contested match between two quality sides. Perhaps it’s worth looking at a cards angle considering that there were plenty of yellow cards in the past few meetings between these sides. If you’re keen to back Arsenal, consider them to win to nil.
