Jurgen Klopp will have rested his entire first team for a League Cup engagement in the week, with the German focused on making sure Brighton are beaten at Anfield this weekend. They come into this game off the back of a 5-0 victory at Old Trafford and it was all the more notable due to the fact that Sadio Mane only came off the bench late.

Mane might take his place in the line-up for this clash, although all eyes will be on the amazing Mohamed Salah who is favourite to be top scorer in the Premier League this season and he could well land Player of the Year. There are a few issues in the midfield department considering that James Milner and Naby Keita both came off at Old Trafford.

However, Curtis Jones, Jordan Henderson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain can all play their part and we might see Fabinho return to the fray after missing last weekend’s bloodbath. The back four are looking superlative and the form of Trent Alexander-Arnold has marked him out for future greatness.

Brighton are potentially tough cookies and the Seagulls will want to be defensively tighter than they were in the clash against Manchester City, with Graham Potter’s side having gone four games without a win. The lack of goals is rearing its ugly head again and we’ll therefore go for a home win to nil.
