West Ham United have had an eventful season although they were foot perfect during the group stage of the Europa Conference League when recording six consecutive wins. They were then pitted against AEK Larnaca in the last sixteen of the competition, claiming a facile 6-0 aggregate win and things were similarly easy when breezing past Gent to book their place in the semis.
A tougher assignment came against AZ as the Dutch side took the lead at the London Stadium before the Hammers came back to win narrowly and they were then able to edge out Alkmaar in the Netherlands to set up a Prague final against a Fiorentina side who have been involved in several high-scoring clashes to book their place.
The Florence team needed extra-time to overcome the challenge of Basel and go through 4-3 on aggregate, with Vincenzo Italiano’s side actually losing the home first leg by a 2-1 scoreline before rallying in the second game and this came after a 6-4 aggregate victory against Lech Poznan, with the Florence side likely to make things tough for West Ham.
Fiorentina are heading for a mid-table finish in Serie A this season, with the Firenze outfit having recovered from a slow start to the campaign and they were able to record nine consecutive wins in all competitions between February and early April, with Nicolas Gonzalez proving to be something of a danger man and we could see plenty of goals scored here.
