Brendan Rodgers claimed to have little to no knowledge of the Europa Conference League when his Leicester City team were demoted to this competition after finishing third in their Europa League group. However, this is now a viable piece of silverware for a Midlands club who won the FA Cup for the first time in their history last term.
Leicester narrowly overcame Rennes to reach this stage of the tournament, with the Foxes winning 2-0 at the King Power before a 2-1 defeat in France, with Rodgers likely to prioritize this competition and they have a chance to steal a march over PSV by playing the first leg encounter on home soil.
Leicester Favourites to Win First Leg – But Not Quarter Final Tie
There is no doubting that PSV are difficult opponents in Europe this season. However, some of the Europa Conference League betting sites make Leicester an odds-on chance to claim a first leg advantage, while others take a dimmer view with their 11/10 quotes and Rodgers will hope to have a fairly fully-fit squad from which to choose.

This is certainly a feasible target for a team managed by Roger Schmidt, with PSV having a ding-dong battle with Ajax at the top of the domestic standings. At the time of writing, they are just two points behind their rivals and it’s noticeable that they have scored sixty-eight goals in twenty-seven games played.
Eran Zahavi has been a revelation in recent weeks, with the 34-year-old having scored in his team’s previous five games and he now has twenty-two for the season. Perhaps he’s one to watch when going up against Leicester’s returning defenders.
