FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Betting
The Club World Cup was always regarded as a minor inconvenience although the 2025 tournament will be hosted this summer and promises to be a showcase event. It takes place roughly a year before the United States co-hosts the 2026 World Cup, with the leading clubs from the various continents across the world competing to land the coveted title.
It's a competition which has been dominated by European champions over the past few renewals. Manchester City achieved a huge win over Fluminense back in 2023, while Real Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Liverpool are some of the other previous winners. It’s the European sides who dominate the market here.
There are four teams representing the AFC, CAF and CONCACAF. The latter will probably be the most competitive, including Monterrey, Seattle Sounders, Pachuca and the winner of a play-off game between Los Angeles FC and Club America. There are also six CONMEBOL teams, with Brazil represented four times and Argentina twice.
Inter Miami have also been given a place due to their hosting, while twelve European sides will make the journey to America in order to land silverware. We should anticipate that we won’t be watching full-strength teams take to the pitch, especially in the early stages of the competition.
Outright Betting
Real Madrid are slight favourites to win the 2025 Club World Cup. It’s just been announced that Luka Modric will leave the club after this tournament, meaning the Croatian might be highly motivated to finish on a high. It’s been an amazing career for the highly-decorated player who has landed a raft of silverware at the Spanish club.
It does appear that Real are taking the competition seriously. This explains why Jude Bellingham is delaying surgery until after the tournament. The England midfielder clearly wants to be successful in a tournament which has been taken seriously for the first time after being expanded to include a wide range of teams.
Manchester City are also one of the market leaders, although it remains to be seen what sort of team will compete in this tournament. Kevin De Bruyne looks set to miss out as his time at the English club comes to an end. It’s also likely that Phil Foden will be given a rest after a troubled season where injury has reduced him to a bit-part player.
There are eight groups in the Club World Cup, with four teams in each group. Let’s take a deeper dive into each section and see what is likely to happen.
Group A
Group A is one of the more open sections, with Porto the European representative and they could face a couple of tough challenges. The Portuguese side are joined by Palmeiras and the Brazilian outfit are only slightly bigger odds than the former to top this section and go through as group winners. Inter Miami have the home advantage and could also go through, with Al Ahly regarded as the big outsiders.
Group B
We’ve got a couple of European heavyweights battling it out in Group B. Paris Saint-Germain have an upcoming Champions League final and we’re not expecting the French champions to be at full-strength for this tournament. Luis Enrique will surely deploy a youthful line-up in the opening stages of the competition after the exertions of the season.
Maybe that will open the way for Atletico Madrid to come through and qualify as group winners. The Spanish side are generally solid operators in cup competitions. The other two sides in this section are Botafogo and Seattle Sounders, with the latter expected to struggle.
Group C
There will be three teams bidding to emerge from Group C in the Club World Cup. Bayern Munich might not need to be at full-strength to finish top of their section, with the German side fresh from winning the Bundesliga. Vincent Kompany’s side are among the outright favourites to land this trophy.
Benfica will also be competitive and they could be battling it out for second spot with Boca Juniors. The Argentine side will want to go deep in the competition and might be more attuned to the warm temperature during the games. Auckland City are surely the rank outsiders who are unlikely to get anything.
Group D
Chelsea made the Europa Conference League final and they’ll be looking to compete for other silverware when it comes to the Club World Cup. Enzo Maresca will rotate his big squad and the London side are warm favourites to win their group. They could be rivalled by Flamengo who are one of the strongest sides in Brazil.
Group E
Inter Milan have been hugely competitive in Europe this season and it’s easy to see the Italian side competing at the business end of the 2025 Club World Cup. Simone Inzaghi’s side were able to topple Bayern Munich and Barcelona en route to reaching the final of the Champions League. However, they might be somewhat fatigued by their exertions when it comes to this US-based tournament.
Nevertheless, the Serie A side are huge favourites to land a victory. River Plate are the other classy operator in the group and we’re expecting the Argentine outfit to qualify for the knockout stage too. The other teams in the section are Urawa and Monterrey who might find themselves playing for third spot.
Group F
Group F could end up being one of the more exciting sections in the Club World Cup. There are four attack-minded teams including Borussia Dortmund, with the German side trading at odds-on to win the group. There could be a concerted challenge from a team who haven’t had anything to play for over the past few months.
Fluminense are a Brazilian side who have the capability to fly the flag for South America deep into the competition. Ulsan are trading at double figures to win Group F and they are trading at a shorter price than Mamelodi in this section.
Group G
Manchester City are among the favourites to win the Club World Cup and Pep Guardiola will field a youthful team for the games in the United States. He will still want the team to be competitive and that is reflected in the outright odds that are available. They are heavy odds-on to win the section although there could instead by value in backing Juventus instead.
Al Ain and WAC Casablanca are the other sides in the group and it’s hard to see them making much of an impression here. Therefore, it could be all about the two European sides in a tussle to land top spot in the group.
Group H
Real Madrid have been handed a winnable section, with Los Merengues likely to be competitive in the United States. They had a largely disappointing domestic campaign which saw them exit the Champions League at the quarter final stage. They were very much second fiddle to Barcelona in Spain although we might expect their stars to appear in this tournament and make an impact.
Al Hilal might benefit from being in a relatively easy section, with Salzburg another team who will have aspirations to go through with Real Madrid. Pachuca are the other side in the section and it’s hard to believe that they can be competitive enough to qualify.
