Paris Saint-Germain won the Ligue 1 title last season by finishing nine points clear of Monaco, although they now have to contend without Kylian Mbappe. It’s been so far so good for the French capital side who have racked up sixteen points thanks to five victories and a draw, scoring twenty goals in the process.
However, this is a tough Sunday encounter that follows hard on the heels of a Champions League away clash at the Emirates Stadium. Luis Enrique actually left Ousmane Dembele out of the squad to face Arsenal after a lack of respect, although we can be confident that the Frenchman will return to the fold to face Nice.
The odds suggest a probable victory for PSG although they were only able to draw 1-1 away to Reims in their previous clash, with the home side scoring from their only shot on target before Dembele fired an equaliser. We can once again expect the champions to have plenty of possession, although Nice shouldn’t be underestimated.
The issue is that the home side themselves might be stretched by a trip to Lazio in the Europa League on Thursday, although they’ve had some eye-catching results this term including an 8-0 thrashing of St Etienne. They have also drawn 1-1 with Toulouse and Real Sociedad, so it can’t be ruled out the match will finish all square.
