2022 World Series Outright Betting Odds

Right now, there are six teams who are trading at single figure betting odds with World Series bookmakers, with the LA Dodgers heading the betting market and they were able to make it to the National League Championship Series last season before being beaten by Atlanta.

That 4-2 defeat might actually be reversed if the teams played each other right now, with the Los Angeles team having previously come through the Wildcard game against St Louis and then edging out San Francisco to reach the final four.

The New York Yankees meekly bowed out of the play-offs last season when losing their wildcard match against Boston, although it could be a different story according to the 2022 World Series betting odds, with the team prominent in the market.

The Yankees are regarded by the baseball bookies as the current strongest team in the American League. They won 34 of their first 49 games of the 2022 season and that should set them up nicely for further success, with the team avoiding the New York Mets in their section.

The Mets have won 35 of their 52 games played at the time of writing and could be on a collision course with the LA Dodgers, with the Mets looking a far stronger entity ahead of Atlanta Braves, Philadelphia Phillies, Miami Marlins and Washington Nationals in the NL East.

Houston Astros could be another interesting contender, with the AL West side currently bossing their section and they should finish comfortably ahead of the Los Angeles Angels. Milwaukee Brewers are also heading towards the play-offs and they have won 32 of their 52 games to lead the NL Central.

2020/21 MLB betting odds – Dodgers strong favourites to win

The 2020/21 Major League Baseball season is in full swing, with the leading teams battling it out to reach the Wild Card Series, with the sixteen teams then playing off to reach the Division Series before four baseball teams go through to the League Championship Series and we then have the World Series.

The LA Dodgers Look the MLB Team to Beat Again

There are six divisions comprising both the American League and National League, although the Los Angeles Dodgers stick out like a sore thumb and they have achieved 16 wins from 25 games in the NL West, with Dave Roberts’ side likely to set a high benchmark when it comes to the end of season play-offs.

Some bookies go as short as 3/1 about the Dodgers winning this season’s World Series and it’s likely that the Los Angeles side will be at the business end of the tournament, although the play-offs can often be unpredictable and there are a number of other teams who could be in strong contention.

Bookies Expecting New York Yankees to Challenge Hard

The New York Yankees are one of the most successful MLB teams in the history of US baseball, with the team having suffered an indifferent start to the 2020/21 season and they’ve only achieved eleven wins from their twenty-four games played although the season is long and they’re expected to mount a stern challenge.

San Diego Padres have the unenviable task of being in the NL West along with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants, although they are still likely to be a force to be reckoned with, while the New York Mets are starting to find their feet after a slow start and they’re expected to make it out of the NL East and compete hard in the play-offs.

The other MLB teams getting respect from the bookies are Chicago White Sox and Atlanta Braves, with the two sides having enjoyed a strong start and the former are faring nicely in the AL Central although Kansas City Royals and Boston Red Sox are also looking strong at the time of writing.

The 2015 Major League Baseball (MLB) season is in full swing after commencing in April and despite there being a whole lot of matches to play before its conclusion in October, there are already some teams emerging as World Series contenders. So read on as we attempt to separate the wheat from the chaff and give our MLB outright winner betting tips and predictions, along with our live betting odds comparison to ensure you get the best prices for every bet you make.

At the time of writing there is a tussle at the top of the betting between the favourites, the LA Dodgers, and the second favourites, the Washington Nationals. The Dodgers edge it in the bookies’ eyes at present and are priced at best betting odds of 13/2 with BetVictor, compared to 15/2 with Paddy Power for Washington.

The Dodgers are odds-on to win the National League West and floating around the 3/1 mark for the National League itself after a promising start to the season. With six of the last nine World Series champions hailing from the National League it is therefore no great surprise to see them as favourites in the MLB outright winner market. We predict, however, that they won’t be able to maintain their current high standards and backing them at the current short odds would be throwing money away.

The same goes for Washington who are just behind the Mets in the National League East as things stand and whose difficulties on the road are sure to cause them to struggle in the months ahead.

We do like the look of the St Louis Cardinals, however, at a nice price of 10/1 with Bet365. They won the World Series against the Texas Rangers in 2011 and though they lost to the Boston Red Sox in 2013, we feel the recent experience of making it to the showpiece event will stand them in good stead once again.

For those who fancy a winner from the American League (which would be only the second in six years) you could do worse than plump for the Kansas City Royals who lost the World Series 4-3 to the San Francisco Giants last year but who have started the current campaign strongly. With some big hitters and a very good roster that includes up and coming stars and those who’ve seen it all before, the Royals are our outside betting tip at best odds of 16/1 with William Hill.

The only other side from the American League we think has a chance of outright success is the Houston Astros. They’ve only ever made it to one World Series (in 2005 when they got whitewashed by the White Sox), but with a solid and fearless start to the season, if they can maintain their form, especially on the road, then the odds of 33/1 with William Hill will look an absolute steal.

Realistically, though, we think the best bet here would be to plump for the Cardinals who have the right mix of experience and energy and who could get the better of the two sides currently above them in the betting.
