Outright Betting
There are twenty-four teams who will compete in the EuroBasket 2025. However, there are realistically only a handful of sides who can be crowned champions. Serbia are the strong favourites to claim a victory and that’s despite the fact that they crashed out of the competition at the last sixteen stage three years ago.
On that occasion, they were defeated 94-86 by Italy despite winning all five of their group games. Svetislav Pešić has a talented group of players at his disposal, with Nikola Jokic the jewel in the crown. The Denver Nuggets center will run the show, with this looking like the team to beat in this tournament.
However, the EuroBasket betting odds suggest that another team will end up being victorious. Germany went deep at the 2023 tournament by defeating Montenegro and Greece in the bracket before a hotly-contested semi-final against Spain where they lost 96-91. The bookies make them second favourites and they should go well.
Spain themselves are reigning champions but they are trading as fifth favourites to win. Perhaps they can rediscover the magic of 2023 where they were able to achieve an overtime win against Lithuania before victories over Finland, Germany and then France in the final.
The French have a proud track record and they are third favourites to win, with Greece, Latvia and Lithuania other sides that we should expect to see at the knockout stage.
Jokic Favourite to Win EuroBasket MVP
Nikola Jokic has obvious star quality and the Serbia center is the warm favourite to be awarded the MVP accolade at EuroBasket 2025. We’re talking about one of the world’s best players who represents the Denver Nuggets in the NBA. He was an NBA champion in 2023 and has been crowned NBA MVP in 2021, 2022 and 2024.
He has also been in the NBA All-Star team on seven occasions, with Miami Heat’s Nikola Jovic also part of the starting line-up along with captain Bogdan Bogdanovic. However, it’s Franz Wagner who is second favourite to be MVP in this tournament. The Orlando Magic small forward can certainly help to propel Germany to great heights.
The 24-year-old has been earning rave reviews in the NBA and Dennis Schroder is also a top quality operator who might also be competing for MVP. The Point Guard has just signed for the Sacramento Kings after previously enjoying stints with Detroit Pistons, Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets.
