Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga by thirteen points last season and they begin a new era under Julian Nagelsmann. Expect them to enjoy a winning start in this clash, with Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry expected to flank the evergreen Robert Lewandowski, while Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka and Alfonso Davies remain important players for the Bavarian side.

Bayern won twenty-four of their thirty-four matches played domestically last season, with eleven wins being recorded in seventeen games on the road. Under Nagelsmann, they should continue to play exciting football and we expect them to be too strong for Monchengladbach.

The home side dropped off last season when finishing eighth in the German Bundesliga last season, with the team having won less than 50% of their home games last season. Scoring goals isn’t a problem for Die Fohlen although conceding them is also an issue and we’re anticipating them being overrun in this clash.

Adi Hutter will hope that his team can give a good account of themselves, with a 1-0 win at Kaiserslautern occurring in the German Cup although it could be tricky for them to repeat this act in this Bundesliga curtain-raiser.
