2021-22 La Liga Outright Betting

Real Madrid might be competing in Spanish La Liga without Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane this season, although the bookies still think they are the likeliest winners of the title. Los Merengues finished two points behind champions Atletico Madrid last season, with Zinedine Zidane's team having enjoyed a solid start to the campaign which has seen them accrue seven points from three matches.

Real's first three games have been on the road, with last season's runners-up having enjoyed a 4-1 victory at Alaves along with a 1-0 triumph at Real Betis. In between came a 3-3 draw away to Levante, with Vinicius Junior potentially having a breakthrough season at the Spanish capital and the Brazilian has enjoyed a strong start.

David Alaba has arrived from Bayern Munich to add some steel in defence and the former Bayern Munich certainly has the knowhow when it comes to winning league titles, while Eder Militao can make up for the absence of Varane, with Thibaut Courtois still an excellent stopper between the sticks.

However, Atletico Madrid will be determined not to relinquish their crown and they've also recorded two wins and a draw in their first three encounters. Diego Simeone's side pulled off a coup when landing Antoine Griezmann on loan before the transfer window closed, with Angel Correa looking to be in strong form.

Nevertheless, Saul Niguez has left the club and leaves a hole in the central midfield area and it will be interesting to see whether Simeone can engineer another league title success, with Atleti only able to secure a 2-2 draw against Villarreal before the international break which suggests that they're not defensively watertight.

Atletico haven't been serial winners of the La Liga title for obvious reasons although there are more chinks in the armour of the so-called Big Two and a lot might come down to the outcome of the matches involving all three teams.

Barcelona have almost become the forgotten team of Spain and are slowly having to adapt to life after Lionel Messi, with Ronald Koeman having to also contend without the departed Antoine Griezmann and it might be a tall order to see the Catalan side finish above the two Madrid teams this season.

However, Barca have seven points on the board after two wins and a draw, with Koeman's side opening up with a 4-2 win over Real Sociedad and they also claimed a 2-1 victory against Getafe. In between came a 1-1 draw away to Athletic Bilbao and there's a reasonable degree of reliance on Memphis Depay who was on fire for the Netherlands during the international break.

Sevilla are regarded as the only other team who can potentially challenge for the Spanish La Liga title, with Julen Lopetegui's side looking to be in excellent form after earning two wins and a draw from their opening three games. The campaign started promisingly with a 3-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano before another defensively tight display away to Getafe.
