Basketball is a hugely popular sport in France and the LNB Elite is one of the biggest leagues in Europe, with eighteen teams competing every season and the season began in September.

ASVEL Basket are the even money favourites to win the 2019-20 title after triumphing last season, with the Lyon team having previously won 19 French Championship titles along with 9 French Cups.

The eighteen teams play each other in a round robin format when it comes to the regular season, with the top eight teams then going through to the playoffs, although the bottom two teams will go down to Pro B and be replaced by two teams from the French second division.

The budgets are quite different when it comes to the eighteen teams and it's little surprise to see ASVEL having the biggest amount of spending power, while Monaco are also well above average.
