While leading nations such as Italy, Spain, France and Belgium battle it out in the Nations League finals, Germany are left to focus on the bread and butter of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup. Despite a slip-up at home to North Macedonia when Joachim Low was in charge, Die Mannschaft are back on track when it comes to securing top spot in Group J.

As for Romania, they are realistic contenders to land second spot and a shot at the play-offs, although this is a side that lack real quality and a 3-2 defeat away to Armenia in March illustrates that their defence could be vulnerable against a Germany side with an elegance of riches.
