How to Get the Best PDC World Darts Championship Odds
Our recommendation is to sign up with a number of bookmakers featured at Odds1x2.com. This means that you can sign up for a selection of welcome bonuses. The bonuses are often in the form of free bets and they can be enjoyed on the various darts matches at Alexandra Palace. Having a wide variety of bookmaker accounts also means you can compare the various prices when it comes to World Darts Championship betting. Each bookie will have different odds for each selection, so it's always useful to compare the markets. When we back a winner, the aim is to leverage the biggest possible return and that is achieved by selecting the largest price.
How to Bet on Luke Littler at the World Darts Championship
Luke Littler is a phenomenon of darts and there will be lots of customers wanting to bet on the world champion to win the title. You might not be able to get big odds about a victory for the youngster, although there is the opportunity to bet on each of his matches when he takes to the oche at Alexandra Palace.
Littler's match odds for each round are likely to be very short but there are other match betting markets which can be enjoyed. For example, there is handicap betting available for every game. You can either back a favourite to overcome a certain set deficit or alternatively an outsider to perform well with a certain number of sets in hand.
There is also Correct Score betting, where you can bet on the winning player and the scoreline that they will win by. So for example, you will get bigger odds for Littler to win 3-0 rather than the world champion simply to win.
Bet on Highest Checkout and Most 180's For Every Match
There are lots of PDC World Darts Championship odds available for each of the matches, with customers often betting on the player to achieve the highest checkout in a match. It simply comes down to which of the two players will check out the highest number and it's a bet that can provide entertainment throughout the contest.
There's also the opportunity to wager on a player to bag the most 180's during a match. Once again, this comes down to power scoring and doesn't always mean it's the player who ends up victorious. This market is also available on an In-Play basis and the odds can therefore change according to the number of 180's being scored.
Past World Darts Championship Winners
The first PDC World Darts Championship took place in 1994 when Dennis Priestley won the inaugural tournament following the breakaway. This was followed by a hugely dominant era where Phil Taylor was able to rack up an incredible fourteen titles. The Power collected eight straight wins between 1995 and 2002 before losing the 2003 final to John Part.
The Stoke potter then landed a consecutive hat-trick of titles between 2004 and 2006, with Raymond van Barneveld and John Part then recording victories before two more successes for Taylor. After Adrian Lewis was able to bag consecutive wins in 2011 and 2012, Taylor landed his final crown in 2013 before a new dawn began.
Between 2014 and 2017, Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson won two titles apiece, with the former becoming champion for the third time in 2019. Rob Cross and Gerwyn Price both have a world title in the bag, with Peter Wright securing a brace of wins in 2020 and 2022. Michael Smith and Luke Humphries were the next two winners before the Luke Littler era began.
