BBC Sports Personality of the Year Winner Betting Odds
Rory McIlroy's dramatic success in the Masters means that he's the warm favourite to land the 2025 BBC Sports Personality of the Year award. The Northern Irishman looks to be in pole position to be crowned the victor, although Jack Draper is also trading at single figure odds and the Brit has been shining on the tennis court this year.
Luke Littler continues to be a huge star on the oche, with the young darts player having finished second in the 2024 awards. Lando Norris might well be in the reckoning if he can finish above team-mate Oscar Piastri and secure a victory in the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship.

2025 BBC Sports Personality of the Year
There have been four successive female winners of BBC Sports Personality of the Year although perhaps that will come to an end in 2025. Emma Raducanu, Beth Mead, Mary Earps and Keely Hodgkinson have all been crowned champions of this prestigious individual award although we may see a male participant land the spoils.
Rory McIlroy is a golf sensation and the Northern Irishman finally ended his major drought at the 2025 Masters. The player ended up winning in a play-off against Justin Rose after playing some superlative golf at August. It had been a decade since he had previously won and it was his first Green Jacket.
That achievement alone might be enough to see Rory land a victory and he still has other chances to win a major in 2025. In 2014, he finished second to Lewis Hamilton although the betting odds suggest that he is going to be difficult to beat unless someone produces a strong individual achievement.
Jack Draper is now the world number four and appears to be capable of following in the footsteps of Andy Murray. The 23-year-old will surely need to win Wimbledon or the US Open in order to be crowned BBC SPOTY. He has reached the fourth round of both the Australian Open and French Open this term, although he's yet to progress beyond the second round at SW19.
Draper won the Indian Wells Open and lost in the Madrid Open final on clay. He could easily be in the top three places for this award and the same applies to Luke Littler. The Warrington-based darts player is the world champion and he continues to shine on the oche despite recently losing the Premier League Darts final to Luke Humphries.
Littler finished second last year and has lots of support. However, a better value bet could be Lando Norris. The McLaren-Mercedes driver is well in contention when it comes to the 2025 Formula 1 Drivers' Championship. Norris could be in direct combat with Oscar Piastri at the time of writing. We know that F1 drivers will often receive lots of votes for these sort of awards ceremony.
